The African Initiative for Progress (AIP) Mentoring Program is designed to meet the needs of students to reach appropriate decisions, approach life in a more pro-active way, and work toward a successful future. They have been working with Davies and South High Schools, providing mentorship for students, strategizing to solve the behavioral, attendance-related, and academic challenges of students and youths.
While working with students at Davies High School, they realized that similar issues existed in South High and North High Schools. During the 2014/15 academic year, they worked with South High and Davies High Schools to provide mentorship services to students. Mentees processed into the program signed up through the schools, with the approval of their parents, and were matched with trained mentors who provided on-site tutoring.
