Welcoming Week

welcoming_week_Welcoming Week, created by Welcoming America, is designed to promote welcoming communities across the nation for New Americans. According to their website, their goal with these annual events is to “bring together immigrants and U.S.-born residents in a spirit of unity to raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone – including new Americans.” Read more about Welcoming America here.

The New American Consortium for Wellness and Empowerment has been a key organization in the development of Welcoming FM since 2015.


Welcoming Week 2017

Welcoming Week 2017 will be September 14-24. The FM area is getting started a day early with a special launching event: Community Table / International Potluck.  The complete schedule can be found on WelcomingFM.org.  The poster below has most of the events, but does not include a “Come In” event on Monday Sept. 18, 12:30-2:30 pm, an International Peace Day Celebration Saturday Sept. 23, 12:00-2:00 PM, and a photo exhibit Saturday Sept. 23, 3:00-5:00 PM.

 

 

 

 


Welcoming Week 2015: Community Table

Welcoming Week: Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo hosted a Community Table in Fargo, N.D., on Sunday, Sept 13, 2015. The free event featured food, conversation and more at Rabanus Park. A meal for several hundred people was served. To read more about the 2015 celebration, click here.
